Colloidal silver has been around for a long time and there are a wide variety of manufacturers for this product. This is both good and bad for the consumer. The good part is that there is a lot of competition and prices are competitive for the most part, but there are some really inexpensive products on the market as well as do it yourself kits. This reveals the bad part of it as many manufacturers do not make a true colloidal silver product and instead create something completely different, but keep the same name.

At home kits that claim to allow a person to create silver colloids in the comfort of their own home to save money are completely false and misleading as they only produce ionic silver. Ionic silver is made due to the electrolysis process used by the at home kits. Ionic silver is not the same as colloidal silver and will not have the same effect on the person consuming it.
